The Over-Under: WWE Money in the Bank 2015 Odds

Well… Well… Well…

Ladies and Gents we Welcome you to another edition…
Of the Over/Under, and I don’t charge Commission…
The picks and props they’re a license to print cash…
Some may call me cocky, or maybe I’m just brash…
But here we all are two weeks after the Chamber…
Ready for another round from a master Prognosticator…
Money in the Bank is an aptly named Show…
Enough with the Rhymes already, its time to go!
SO thank you for joining me for this and past days…

I’m your author and handicapper, Sir Scott…M… Hayes!

Apparently the pre-show match will be King Barrett vs. R-Truth. I will put as much time and effort into explaining this as the WWE did. They want to get Barrett a win.

This match was taken off the board. Truth would have better odds against spiders. Now, lets get onto the main card!

OVERVIEW!

The New Day continue to roll strong heading into Money in the Bank. This is a rare instance where we know which two New Day members will be wrestling, since Kofi is in the Money in the Bank. Prime Time Players have been strong since reuniting. Entertaining promos to start and now victories on victories on victories. They looked strong inside the Elimination Chamber. They had a dominating win in the triple threat #1 Contender’s Match. Crowd is really into them, but is that enough for the sun to set on the New Day?

Favorite(s)!

The New Day: -350. Like I said 2 weeks ago, “Not the time for them to lose”. Prime Time Players MIGHT be the team to do it… perhaps at Summer Slam. I expect Kofi will still be ringside stirring up trouble. This team is too white hot right now to pull a title change.

Underdog(s)!

Prime Time Players: +200. Right now there is no shortage of over tag teams. Removing for a moment the fact that Kidd and Cesaro are, for the foreseeable future, no longer a team. You have PTP, New Day, Lucha Dragons, and even the Ascension’s reactions have been getting stronger. The division is booming, and part of that is the strength of the tag team champions and the people’s growing desire to see them unseated. That day WILL come, but it won’t be Sunday.

Prop Bets O’ The Match!

Over/Under Mid match “Hurrah’s” from Titus O’neil: 3.5
Clap: -200 or Snap: +250.

OVERVIEW!

Ryback won the Intercontinental Championship at Elimination Chamber. This is his first taste of WWE gold. He’s had a couple solid promos to follow. Last week he was scheduled to defend against the Miz, BUT? Big Show returned. KO Punched Miz and told Ryback that the only person taking the IC Title was HIM. This week on Raw they both appeared on Miz TV. The three had a solid segment mixing it up. Eventually things break down (80% of the time this happens ALL the time on Miz TV or other such Interview segments). Ryback hit an impressive Shellshock on the Big Show. (A head scratcher, for SURE… why give that away on Raw?!) Boom. We have an IC title match.

Favorite!

Ryback: -600. C’mon. First title defense. Almost no build to this match. They want to establish the mid card belts. Its Big Show… NOTHING here says Big Show is winning.

Underdog!

Big Show: +400. His win loss record the last two years has been nothing short of abysmal. Crowds are chanting “Please Retire” at him.

Prop Bets O’ The Match!

Over/Under: 8 minutes, Bell to bell.
How Awful will Ryback’s Tights be: Super -200. Very – 100. Mega Hella +100. Not At All +14000

OVERVIEW!

At Elimination Chamber Nikki Bella triumphed over Paige and Naomi in a triple threat. Then at Raw Paige challenged Nikki because she felt she deserved a one on one shot that she earned with her Battle Royal victory (This happened in England, before Paige went off to film a movie) – Nikki agreed and wanted to make the match that night. Nikki retained when Brie climbed out and rolled up Paige for a little “twin magic”. Which would be a head scratching… (I’ve lost count) – turn for the Bellas over the last 24 months, or so. Smackdown Paige cut a promo about how what she does revolves around “that ring”, and that the Bellas want to be famous and models and celebrities. She discussed wanting to change the Divas Division. Hoping that’s some dramatic foreshadowing for a call up… or two… or four. Anyway. We have a one on one between Nikki and Paige at Money in the Bank.

Favorite!

Nikki Bella: -550. I’m guessing by hook or by crook and this further brings about Paige’s promise of bringing change to the Diva’s Division. Plus Nikki Bella is continuing to add days to that title reign. I think she continues. Will she approach AJ Lee’s 295?

Underdog(s)!

Paige: +200. Wouldn’t be SHOCKING, but with her promo I feel like the Bellas need to keep her from winning and thus continuing to inspire Paige to deliver on this promise.

Prop Bets O’ The Match!

Cheat to Win: Yes: -300. No: +200.
Over/Under How Many Bella turns happen during match: 6.5
Over/Under: 7.5 minutes – bell to bell.

OVERVIEW!

At Elimination Chamber, Kevin Owens shocked the world. He and Cena had a Match of the Year contender. Owens won clean in the middle of the ring, and has followed that up with spectacular promos. I’d compare Owens debut to the main roster and how impressive he’s looked and been handled to Brock Lesnar… only… Really?! I can’t remember anyone looking this good out the gate. There is a lot of faith in Kevin Owens, and so far its CLEAR it hasn’t been misplaced.

Favorite!

John Cena: -100. The IWC wailed and gnashed teeth when the rematch was announced on Elimination Chamber. “Cena’s going to get his win back”. And while Vegas agrees, Vegas also would like to point out like a fellow columnist did, “Just enjoy it”. This match should be every bit as good. I could see a Cena win by DQ, or Countout. Owens is the type of heel who could basically walk out and be like ‘Nah, I got my pin last time… I’m good.’

Underdog!

Kevin Owens: +100. As you see I’m not totally sold on a huge favorite, or underdog. I am also not convinced this match has an ending. No matter what happens at Money in the Bank its clear WWE sees a big star in what they have with Kevin Owens.

Prop Bets O’ The Match!

How’s this match End: Cena Pinfall: -250. Cena by DQ/Countout: -100. No Contest: Even. Owens Pinfall: +100
Over/Under Attitude Adjustments: 3.5
Next Person to Pin Kevin Owens: John Cena: -300. Finn Balor: -100. Cesaro: +200. Heath Slater: (BABY!) +15000

OVERVIEW!

Setting up this one is easy! Every year WWE hangs a briefcase above the ring and has a multi-man ladder match. The winner gets to carry said briefcase until the time is right to cash it in. This is a star maker of a match. Unfortunately? Lot of stars have already been made in this match. We have THREE former MitB winners: Kane, Ziggler, and Orton. 4 former world champions: The three just mentioned + Sheamus. Throw in Roman Reigns who has won a Royal Rumble and main evented Wrestlemania, and there is quite a start studded, established roster for this Money in the Bank Ladder match. TO round out the 7 man roster: Kofi Kingston and Neville (Because: HEY! FLIPPY GUYS+LADDERS=GOLD, JERRY!) The match will be entertaining. The prospects for who MIGHT win, aren’t very diverse.

Favorite(s)!

Roman Reigns: -750. Like American Pharoah. He’s the favorite by a wide margin. I could see someone else winning, but it doesn’t appear that likely. Operation: World Champion Reigns is still full speed ahead in Stamford.

Someone Else: -300. Basically, if someone gets added last minute, they’d be the 2nd most likely to win this match. (See more on this in the prop bet section)

Kane: -200. Maybe… just MAYBE they go with Kane here and play that into his current friction with WWE World Heavyweight Champion, Seth Rollins. He’s the 2nd most likely in this handicapper’s opinion.

Sheamus: -100. Doesn’t make a ton of sense considering Rollins is the champion, BUT? There is no rush, or need to rush to have him cash. He could hold it and bide his time until, say, an Ambrose or Reigns was champion.

Underdog(s)!

Randy Orton: +150. Wouldn’t be surprising. Would work from a storyline respect. STILL, he just won this briefcase 2 years ago. Really no need or interest in him being the case holder this year.

Kofi Kingston: +200. Some super swell writer on this site wrote a nice column about why Kofi SHOULD win, but that didn’t mean he WOULD win. I expect to see E and X… I also expect them to be part of landing party for someone falling a long way off a ladder.

Dolph Ziggler: +550. Like Orton, it’d make sense from a story perspective, but when there are two other guys in the match who not only have BIGGER axes to grind with Rollins and the Authority and Ziggler hasn’t even been INVOLVED with the Authority? Its easy to see him becoming a long shot.

Neville: +800. Gravity might have forgotten him, but so have bettors. Expect him to steal the show. Don’t expect him to steal the briefcase!

Prop Bets O’ The Match!

MVP of the Match: Kofi Kingston: -400. Neville: -300. Roman Reigns -100. Ziggler: +50. Orton: +150. Sheamus: +200
Who Else?: (Possible added entrant) Kevin Owens +200. Brock Lesnar +400.

OVERVIEW!

During their excellent match at Elimination Chamber, I turned to my friend and said “In 4 years when these two are still wrestling and main eventing against one another, people are going to be griping about seeing it”. Okay… that cynical view aside? I’m really looking forward to this match. How did we get here? At Elimination Chamber Dean Ambrose hit Dirty Deeds and pinned Seth Rollins. Unfortunately shortly before that Ambrose had taken out a referee when Seth Rollins had pulled him into the way of a flying Ambrose (Clearly WWE refs don’t “Play the advantage” like they do in soccer) – So Ambrose STILL won, but it was by DQ and not pinfall. The Title doesn’t change hands on a DQ win. Ambrose, rightfully angry, stole the championship and ran. (He might have a devoping kleptomania issue to deal with, this capped off a year where he stole Rollins’ MitB briefcase AND the IC Title… at least he’s consistent) – So he got a rematch and they made it a ladder match. Adding intrigue is Rollins claiming he’s going to do this on his own. That he doesn’t NEED the Authority. This could be a defining moment in his short stint as WWE World Heavyweight Champion

Favorite!

Seth Rollins: -300. Not here. Not now. Rollins is holding this at least through a rematch with Lesnar.

Underdog!

Dean Ambrose: +300. Similar. It might take another year, or so for this to happen. Maybe next year’s Wrestlemania if they play it right.

Prop Bets O’ The Match!

Over/Under: Ambrose plays see/saw in the Ropes: 4.5
Interference: Yes -250. No. +100.
Cash in Post Match: No -300. Yes +250.
