Tag Team Top 5 for the Week of March 30th, 2015

#1 The Hooligans (Devin & Mason Cutter @BeardedBullys)- They're baaaaack. After owning the Tag Team Top 5 in 2014, these bearded bullies are back with a vengeance this week after scoring a revenge victory over The Tryout Show Rejects (Reed Bentley & John Wayne Murdoch) at IWA Mid-South on 3/24 and then successfully defended their Zero 1 USA Tag Team Titles when they defeated Blake Bellakis & Jordan Perry on 3/26. While it's certainly not the strongest week they've ever had as their HoodSlam plans fell through over the weekend, it was still enough with their name value and their outlaw lifestyle to get them the #1 ranking this week. After being #1 in the Tag Team Top 50 for 2014, they're on the hunt for another high spot this year.

#2 Hunter Brothers aka The Brothers of Construction (Jim Hunter & Lee Hunter @JimnLeeHunter)- Kind of a surprise appearance for the SWE, Kamikaze, and LCW Tag Team Champions as they defeated In The Night Garden (Love Making Demon & Old Poppa Sunflower) at Attack! On 3/27 and then followed that up with a victory vs. Davey Richards & Mr. Anderson to go 2-0 for the week as a team. After having a solid 2014, they're starting to make a big splash in 2015 as this brother tandem has been very good in the UK as of late. Now that we're in April, let's see how the rest of 2015 goes for this team.
#3 Monster Express (Masato Yoshino & Syachihoko BOY)- The Dragon Gate Open the Twin Gate Champions get their first ranking together as they teamed with Shingo Takagi on 3/24 at Dragon Gate to beat Dia.HEARTS (BxB Hulk, Kzy & Masaaki Mochizuki) and then teamed with Akira Tokawa to beat MAD BLANKEY (Cyber Kong, Gamma & Naruki Doi) on 3/28 to go 2-0 for the week. Since the start of 2015 we have seen Dragon Gate tag teams and stables dominate the Tag Team Top 5, particularly from the "Monster Express" stable. Oddly enough though, this tandem have not been ranked previously as they have been overshadowed mostly by Shingo & Tozawa as well as Uhaa & Tozawa. Can they start making an impact in the upcoming weeks?
#4 Strong BJ (Daisuke Sekimoto & Yuji Okabayashi)- The KO-D Tag Team Champions teamed with Ryuichi Kawakami, Frank Atsushi and Hideyoshi Kamitani at BJW on 3/23 to beat Tsutomu Osugi, Masato Inaba, Kankuro Hoshino, Ryuji Ito and Hercules Senga and then defeated Danshoku Dino & Super Sasadango Machine at DDT on 3/29 to retain the titles to go 2-0 for the week. Another solid week for them as they crack the Tag Team Top 5 amongst several teams who managed to go 2-0 on the week. This team has been VERY good in 2015, but really hasn't had a lot of opportunities to breakthrough. Perhaps this will lead to even bigger things?
#5 Jimmyz (Jimmy Susumu, Genki Horiguchi H.A.Gee.Mee!! & Jimmy Kagetora)- Dragon Gate gets further representation in the Tag Team Top 5 this week as the NEW Open the Triangle Gate Champions defeated Dia.HEARTS (Masaaki Mochizuki, Dragon Kid, & Big R Shimizu) on 3/29 to win the titles. It's not frequent that we get a 3-man team in the Tag Team Top 5 (although we had one in the #1 spot last week in the Viking War Party) but this team's big title win could not be overlooked this week. With Dragon Gate running many 6-man Tag Team Matches, can we expect more to come from these champions? Time will tell.
People's Champs. Mc Massive (Gavin McGavin & Mike Massive)- The EPW Tag Team Champions defeated Kings & Bishops (Jordan Bishop & Taylor King) in Australia on 3/27 to retain the titles. They JUST edged out Blunt Force Trauma to win the online voting competition this week.
