I had to catch up on my family sitcoms (Blackish, The Middle, Fresh Off The Boat), late night shows (Nightly show, Seth Meyers, Colbert), and Morning Joe. So I'm at work and watching NXT throughout the workday.
I had a few wrestling fans as customers today. Always wear your wrestling shirts when going out in public, there is no other way to know who can talk to who about wrestling. I got to talk about ROH, Mania coming to town, Jerry Lynn, if Demilition derserves the Hall of Fame, and what Philadelphia was like to vacation to for wrestling.
NXT opening video and match
Eva Marie vs. Carmella
I'm not looking forward to this. Both girls are gaining the talent needed, but they also need someone to carry the match for them still.
Carmella's character is defined, she is a Staton Island Haie Stylist. The problem is she only shows one emotion, energetic happiness. Eva is just Eva, she is incapable of emotion I believe. That probably means she is the second coming of Nikki Bella, so the next decade will have some rough spots in women's wrestling.
The girls were doing surprisingly well until signals were crossed during a suplex reversal. Eva tried doing heel spots, taunting opponent and crowd, deprecating moves. It seems like she is just remembering when to do them instead of naturally and organically doing it. I can't tell ya how to do it, I have no idea. I can just tell you the vibe it gives me. This vibe feels unauthentic.
Carmella astonishingly has her moveset of doom. Corner head scissors, Running Thez Press x2, Staten Island Shuffle
into corner spear, Carmella puts her boot on the top turnbuckle and rams Eva's head into the boot. She goes for the pin and gets two. Eva made it seem like she didn't kick out, but the ref saw Eva's foot on the rope.
Eva throws Carmella out the ring and that's enough to get the W.
And I'm Like… They used her actual screw up and made it cannon, that is smart. Except the crowd boo's cause they know it wasn't on purpose the first time. It's similar to a babyface song bad things. That babyface will get boo'd by smart fans cause they know �that's not how it's posed to be!!!' Once that babyface switches to heel and does the same thing they are beloved cause �they are good at their job'.

We see a video of the CeleBAYtion. Bayley talks about wanting people to appreciate women's wrestling.
They show Sasha and her remarks last week that had my cousin saying "Sasha says her match was the best women's match in WWE history, like it was good but who really says it's good?" You can tell my cousin doesn't use the internets. I guess we need videos of WWE super starts saying how great the match was.
Bull Dempsey vs. Tyler Breeze
Bull looks genuinely happy that he is getting cheers!
In the last match these two had, Breeze ran around the ring until Bull was gassed, Tyler hit the Beauty Shot for the win. This time around Tyler is made the fool by Bulls new found confidence.
Bull shows this feat of agility and asks for crowd support.
Byron says that Bullfit is better than

. Bull gets thrown right on to the ramp, the same ramp that incapacitated Carmella earlier.
Breeze holds court with a reverse chin lock on Bull, to take the air out of Dempsey. Breeze only knows one way to beat bull and that’s air restriction.
HOLY SHIT THE REF IS WHILE BOTH MEN ARE DOWN!
Bull is Bullfitting himself for a victory. By Bullfitting I mean he is hulking up. By hulking up I mean he is no-selling or acting as if he is impervious to pain. Bull goes for his moveset of doom, once the crowd catches on to all of Bull’s moves and quirks he will be a very solid hand on the show.
Bull goes for a top rope senton but Breeze counters it twice. Tyler pins Bull with Breeze’s foot on the rope for the win.
And I’m Like… That match was alright to watch, they didn’t progress the in-match story like I thought they would. With Breeze winning, Bull looked broken hearted.. I am not sure where we go from here because Tyler Breeze is scheduled to face Apollo Crews soon.
Asuka is up next, all I know is that her name is not phonetically spelled.
There is a commercial for the NXT:Breaking Ground show, I feel like I will cry alot during that show. The reason being, is NXT resonates with me because it’s people at the very cusp of achieving their dreams. They can’t coast on their skills yet cause they aren’t on the main show, they have such a deep roster pool that spots have to be fought for not given to. It is a show where hard work pays off, it does not insult the audiences attention, and it plays the emotional chords to make beautiful moments. NXT is where dreams go to become realities, and being able to see the pure emotion on these athletes makes regret not deciding that wrestling is my everything sooner. These people made and are making sacrifices I’m not ready to make yet. I’ve never wanted to be a wrestler, a manager or ref maybe, but really I just want to be involved. I believe that wrestling is the best art and sport in the world. It should be the number one form of entertainment for everybody. WWE should not stop until that is reached, you can tell every story that needs to be told in a wrestling universe. I want to be apart of creating that, and seeing these NXT superstars, living the struggle and the dream will move me at my core. That’s why the NXT Womans division means so much to me emotionally, they are proving that heart and determination will get you the respect and admiration. They prove that no matter what your dream is, you can achieve it.
THAT WAS A RANT… wow.. but I had to get it out, Breaking Ground should be an amazing show.
Asuka contract signing
William Regal introduces Asuka as the greatest competitor that NXT has ever signed… whoa..
I’ll call her a ragin’ fire cause she looks stoked. First thing she says is “Yeeeeeahhhhh!!!” “I’m happy to be in NXT YEAAAAHHHH!!” “Dream come true” ugh Asuka, already getting me in the feels. “I want NXT Womans Championship”
She is so happy to have just signed the NXT contract.
Emma and Dana Brooke come out and Regal calls them rude! They say they run NXT. Dana says “things will be OV-ER before they get Star-Ted, playtime is O-VER” Emma tells Asuka to leave the ring. Which she begrudgingly does. She feigns going back to the ring, but ends up leaving with a sinister smile on her face that has Emma and Dana shaking in their boots.
And I’m Like… WTF!! I’m already emotionally invested in a character I have never seen in my life, that is talent all around!!! I’m very excited for the weeks to come!
Kyle Edwards walks us through the goings ons in the Dusty Classic.
Dash and Dawson beat the current Tag Champs in the Vaudevillians to advance. That is a shocker..
Hype Bros. say they are up against Gable and Jordan next week, saying Gable and Jordan are the guys that get no chicks.. I hate these guys, they are the jock douches that have no idea what women are or how to truly treat one with respect. Mojo..No.
Gable and Jordan talk about the Hype Bros. Gable points out that he is impressed by the Hype Bros. because they are only misspelled one word on their shirts. Jordan says he hates the Hype Bros. name. I’m with you two, and next week we will all be Ready. Willing. and all

NXT Tag Team Championship
Vaudevillians (c) vs. Blake and Murphy
I see that the Villains are in their blue gear from Takeover:Brooklyn. They don’t have Blue Pants though. The whole storyline was they couldn’t beat Blake and Murphy when Bliss was around. HOLY CRAP I just thought of Alexa Blake and Murphys initials A BM… thats poop humor y’all.
Ok, Blue Pants showed up, and the Discount Diva took Bliss to the back so this match will be fair and square.
It’s crazy how pasty Aiden English is, maybe even whiter than Sheamus? Good thing Mattel already has the Sheamus skin color made up! Aiden and Gotch are crazy talented though. They totally get how this all works, I don’t even know how to comprehend how good wrestling is presented, but I can call a spade a spade. English and Gotch are tremendous talents in every aspect of what is being presented.
Byron is pointing out how Blake and Murphy, since losing their titles, have also lost the bonus money you get with being champion. They were used to that income and want to get it back. Corey Graves says it’s not about that at all, they just want to avenge Alexa for what happened to her. Wow, Byron your on point, and SHUT…Up… Graves.
This match is alot of rest holds when Blake and Murphy are on offense. The Villains get the upper hand when Gotch hits his signature kicks. They go for that rolling firemans carry into a swanton splash finisher, but it gets reversed.
No worries though, the Villains hit the Whirling Dervish for the win.
And I’m Like… That match needed to happen cause ‘rematch clause’. I hope that this feud is over, Blake and Murphy need something to sink their teeth into character wise. What are they other than millennials? Lot’s to look forward to next week, being the go home show before Takeover: Respect.
We just hired my niece at the restaurant so my wife can get ready for maternity leave. Being a business owner is hard, shits just not paid for if you want to still pay your home bills. Well my niece is training to become a fitness model, and I told her its her responsibility to show up next week and the week after to get ready for Bayley vs. Sasha, these two need to be seen by as many people as possible. They can convert any non-believers that woman’s wrestling is just wrestling. These girls are good, but they aren’t just good for being girls, they are good for being wrestlers.
