What if: ECW Returned

What if: ECW Returned

With WWE network at One Million subscribers, the Royal Rumble will go in the books as a success regardless of the Anti-Rumble heat created by upset Daniel Bryan marks.

With that being said the future is so bright, I gotta wear shades… Sorry couldn’t help myself.

Moving forward fans will always look for new and exciting content.  With that beings said we already looked at how Triple H could relaunch WCW as a subsidiary brand, allowing more talent the room and opportunity to shine.

Now we look at how Heyman could establish a new ECW on… That’s right the WWE network for only $9.99!

The Pitch:
Brock Lesnar goes to UFC leaving Paul Heyman alone with a slew of broken relationships.  Sure WWE could put him with Cesaro again, but why not take Cesaro with Curtis Axel and other under rated superstars for a fresh run in the land of extreme?

Now WWE can keep RAW and Smackdown family friendly, but with parental controls on the network, ECW can be the place the adult oriented wrestling can go all out with out the prying eyes of the under-aged. My suggestions is Friday nights to replace the void left in the Smackdown move.

And yes if it were up to me RAW on Monday, Main Event Tuesday, Wednesday for nXt, Smackdown on Thursdays, ECW Fridays

Titles:
Well the ECW Championship would be the only title to build the company on.

As ECW expands the tag team title should be hardcore tag team championships giving the an edge of variety from the WWE tag team division.  ECW Television title would be the secondary work horse title used to build talent.

And a new ECW Queen of Extreme championship would be the edgier Divas counterpart.  Paige comes to mind as a woman built for ECW.

Roster:
Rob Van Dam is now part time with WWE and would be a great way to bring the old ECW fans back for more.

The Dudley boys could build a whole new tag division around them and would be a geat way to test the Ascension.

Cesaro is the guy I think a new ECW would be built around, and fans are dying to see Cesaro take center stage.

Big Cass and Enzo Amore have the right attitude to sell a new ECW era!

Finally Kevin Owens is a guy who could really build an exciting new chapter for ECW!

Recap:
One of WWE’s downfalls is they want to reach every demographic. A prime example being kids vs adult.  These two alone have different needs.  While adults can watch anything, some content is inappropriate for certain youth.

So create content for all ages, and additional content for your polarized audience.  You give families your Raw, Smackdown, and main event. Give indy fans more nXt and wrestling purists a new WCW for international flair and pure wrestling.  And Finally give adults the blood, cussing, and damn near pornographic suggestive materials through ECW.

Oh, while I am at it may I suggest an all women’s wrestling program on WWE network, weather you buy Shimmer or build your own Diva wrestling show. Heck make that the new Sunday Night heat!

Regardless Heyman running a new ECW one WWE network would be gold.

So let us hear what you think about a new ECW for the WWE network, or what you would like to see in a What if Wrestling scenario!

    No.

If this did happen I think Ambrose and Wyatt would be great additions because their matches are vicious. But it will never happen. Come and gone. If you missed it you missed it. You can’t just bring it back.

Hardcore ECW as WWE Network exclusive? It would be good.

  • Harriszilla

Great Idea! Ambrose would be a perfect fit. Bull Dempsey would be another good fit too in my opinion.

No, let the past die. It’ll never live up to it. It’s like saying, what if we had a rapper call himself Notorious Big or 2pac, it’ll never be the same. ECW and WCW died, let it go.

Depends on how WWE books it. I don’t want to see a WWE version of ECW 2,0.
Either they go back to the old concept of ECW or they just leave it alone. Period.
